Its that time again.... Duck's F1 mod update. Tonight its 1971 that gets the treatment thanks to a convertion of the old CREW mod:

http://www.virtualr.net/f1-1971-league-edition-released/

"so whats the deal here?"

Its a 1971 mod converted up from F1Challange, but they've done a seriously good job here on both textures and physics. Make no mistake this looks the part and drives the part.

"mmm... physics, heard all that before. Lemmie guess ultra impossible to drive"

Nope, not one bit. For the first time in a long time the retro mod has useable handling. Its similar to the 1975 mod

"seriously... how easy to drive?"

decent comparison would be a Formula Masters in the wet or the escort in GTL. Treat it with some respect and you'll be able to get it round the lap fast enough. You can even slide it

"hows it run?"

quite well actuall considering the apparent detail on the cars

"downsides?"

the cars are a bit fragile, computer drivers lose wheels and wings easy

"bottom line, worth getting?"

Yup, certainly more so then some other higher profile mods i could mention!

Actually im not talking to myself i'm pre-empting your questions smile.gif (which i've done before)

Yes it is an rFactor mod, i did forget to mention that bit. A few days later and its still my 'go-to' mod which is notmally a good sign (i got bored of the F1 2009 mod after 4 laps)

Learning to slide the car is a challenge but when you do get it right its great fun
